Just a quickie.

My MY00 is near the 7.5K service.
I just want to know what the dealership are going to change and how much the cost is likley to be. I've been told by the dealer that its gonna be about £100. Is this correct?
+ how long do will they keep it for (I can't bear to be without it for too long)?

£100 sounds about right (some charge a little more, some a little less) & it only takes about 1 hour or so.

They tell you to get lost for an hour then change the oil (Shell Helix) and filter. Oh and of course they do 1001 vital service checks!

No doubt they are clued up with recent"bug fixes" so to speak and they can do all that too.

From memory it was less than £100 at Robinsons of Rochdale when I went in March.

Cost me £57 for my 6000 mile service (service required more often for imports)
That included oil (Silkolene Pro S) and filter

The oil costs about £40 - 4.7 to 4.8 litres - not 4.5 litres - as this does not fill it up properly!
Filter £5
Labour - the rest

Takes about 20 mins - mostly for oil to drain out

Anything else you can check yourself - fluid levels, etc - if handbrake needs adjusting just tell them - very easy job, etc

The servicing on these cars is pretty basic - except for the 30,000 and and the cam belt change

Most people are ripped off by the dealers - presumably Uk car owners need it for warranty? - if just VAT registered required take it to anyone!

For people living in Bristol - Lockleaze Service Station 0117 969 1478 is the cheapest and they know what they are doing - based near Horfield

One more for you... I have literally just phoned SGT in Taplow to book MY00 in for a 7500 mile service, chap there quoted me £110 and an hour wait.

I see from the above thread that this is about right.

And as for warranty, yep, I am going to a Subaru dealer because when I finally come to sell the car (about 3 years from now unless anything comes up) I want a full sevice history, cause I will need to get every penny I can get...so that I can then get a nice new Scooby with all the bells and whistles and not just a paultry 215 bhp!

But only if it doesn't really look like the bag of spanners currently being touted around by Subaru!!)

(Actually that aside, considering how Subaru have been so guarded about the new model...does anyone else think that this could be an almighty **** take from Subaru?? I sincerely hope so......)

I need more ooomph!!! I am just very wary of adding on SS exhausts and new chips in case it knackers it or invalidates anything!

Jim
