Of course, in theory, electric motors tend towards massive torque at 0rpm. Unfortunately, the second they are moving at all, this falls away a lot. 1000lbft is all well and good at 0rpm, but if it falls to 200lbft by 1000rpm, it's not going to give supercar performance . . . .

Sorry, may be the car will be wonderful - cynicism coupled with physics degree = bad thing.

Ermmm, don't see how that's a solution to congestion? Half the length and I could see the point, but half the width? Are they anticipating driving 2 abreast? Even motorcyclists only do this very rarely and usually if they're mates going the same route.
