A '99 STI 5 Type R has ABS apparently. I contacted the (Import) company concerned (to inform them of their mistake) and they said that, yes it has ABS, JDM cars come with a higher spec. including ABS on Type R's. I cannot believe that they do not understand the cars they are selling. The car is a white one on Ebay at the mo.

 

In theory it could have ABS as they dont list it as having DCCD ...seem to remeber a few RA's having a DCCD or ABS option

What would worry me more is how they've got it through the SVA ...didnt think a model report was available???

If its an STi type R with DCCD it wont have ABS, if its a wrx type R without DCCD it will have ABS.

Exactly as you say Tony WRX Type R (not STI) like mine does have ABS, one question though! which front brake calipers should it have, mine has the 2 pot sliding type i wondered if someone hadn't light fingered the originals??

From around 99 onwards i think all scoobs had the subaru 4 pots, the STi's had them before that though (97?).

Its a 98MY Version 4 i belive, it does say World Rally Champions 1995,1996,1997 on the boot badge though!
