Well like some other people here, I thought I'd try the 24Hr test drive offered from Subaru UK, I have an MY04 STi Type UK so I thought it would be nice to try the MY05 model what with it's better suspension and all.
Filled in the request form on there web site and waited.


2 weeks later a phone call, "Hello it's Subaru UK calling about your test drive, it's been very popular, and where finding it difficult to allocate cars in your area, are you still interested" "Yes" I said. "Oh ok then we'll get in touch with you local dealer (Rochdale) and arrange a 30min test drive. The dealers don't like to give the 24hr one straight away because they feel most customers can't handle the car" "Yes" I said "But I already have a STi so I don't think thats a problem" "Ok we'll call you back".

I get the second call today, "The dealers in you area don't have a STi for you to try, sorry"
"But there a Subaru garage, so your telling me they don't have a STi demo car?"
"Yes"
"So you expect me to order a £26.000 car without even driving it"
"Well I'm sorry bye"

The impresion I got was either there too sick of boy racers waisting their time, or their so protective about there new cars they won't let them out of their site for more than 30mins. Oh and you're only allowed 100miles which isn't a problem until you have to drive 30 miles just to get to the dealer.
