Default MY 2005 Sti v older models

Reading in particular the upgrades in the mechanical spec of the new car I ask if cars 2002/4 are really up to the mark. Should I contemplate buying new, what are the faults (if any) in the old model, or is a just a matter of new technology? Please read my other threads, thanks Melvyn

If you buy a used JDM car, then you get the 2005 UK upgrades and more on 2003 cars!
