Exclamation Has Your Scoob ever gone off after a hard run??

Has your Scoob ever "gone off" after a hard run??

Went out the other night for a spirited drive
After quite a while on back lanes the car seemed to lose some power and the turbo sounded whiney!!

The next time out after the car had a chance to cool everything was back to normal.

Is there any way to prevent this? could it be that my oil is not up to scratch?

Answers on a postcard please...

Cheers

Roblad.

Right - I'm new to this site but i know a bit about motors well (BMW'S anyway).

If you have given it a good old beasting the under bonnet temprature get's very high.
All that hot air is being taken into the intake and reducing performance.

Like you say after the car has cooled, it's back to normal as cold air is denser than hot.

The denser the air the more goes into the cylinders then more fuel and hey presto you get a bigger bang AND MORE POWER.

Are you running the car with an induction kit?

If so you may need a heat shield, at least that what we find on the performance BMW's.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Rob,

Ther car is bog standard with no induction kit, but what you say makes sense.

I have seen some cars with induction trumpets in the front grill which would probably cure it.

Oh well I will just have to get some mods done !!
