Default Help with stalk on 2000W impreza turbo

Hi All.

I'm new to the site having bought a 2000W Impreza turbo with a Pro drive kit fitted. Wow what a car!

On the left of the steering wheel below the indicator stalk there is a second stalk. It looks like it should operate cruise control. Has a button on it marked on and off, and a push switch on the end. The whole stalk will move down and back. No matter what i do it will not engage cruise. Is this what it is? Does it sound broken? If so is this a known fault?? Any ideas would be greatly received.

Thanks,

Richard

Sounds like its possibly a Radio Remote Control.... Either for the current stereo, or from a stereo thats been removed prior to sale.

Cheers,
Grant

Cruise could be added though, cheam motors used to sell the gear as aftermarket fitment.

I think you'll find it is Cruise Control. It's fitted to my P1 and looks exactly as you describe. Not so sure how it operated though as I've only used it a few times. I think the spring-loaded push switch at the end of the stalk is the trigger for starting the cruise control - make sure the slide switch is pushed to the right for on. Keep playing with it and it might work eventually.

You will be able to tell if it is this - look under the bonnet and to the passenger side of the intercooler and below - if you see what looks like a dark balloon (don't really know how else to describe it) then it is cruise control.

Cheers

Terry
