What Boost should a 240PS WRX Pull
Fitted a boost guage at the weekend, register about 10-11 psi when pushing hard.
Does this sound about right.
I know a standard 3-door cossie is about 9.8psi, but do not have any figures for a 94' WRX

**** on mate!!!!
Should be .8 bar, which is 11.7...... psi
Shaun
Remember its warm at the moment (hence less boost), so your figures sound right!!

That surprises me a little... I have a UK-spec car with "215ps" (but reckoned to be a little more really) and that pulls up to about 15psi after a bit of hard driving, even in the warm weather...
Any explanations, oh knowledgeable peoples?

hmmm,
so many factors affect this - but unmodified uk car is normally 12 psi peak with 11 held - rising to 14peak/12 held with easier breathing + cats removed etc....
wrx would normally be about 14/12 psi -
with a downpipe and better filter etc. you could see 16/14 - sti slightly more - bear in mind that most mechanical gauges are not that accurately calibrated - a good tuning centre will have a nice big gauge which is probably more accurate - get a check done sometime - but be careful if they 'tee-in' to the turbo pipework that they use a cable tie to properly secure the pipes afterwards.
as already mentioned above - cold days = more boost.
don't get too hung up on this though 11 psi does not necessarily mean your wrx is poorly.
