Default Trotteround 3-Wheeler "Rally of Wales"

This weekend saw the very first Trotteround.....a 3-Wheeler "Rally of Wales" in aid of Wales Air Ambulance.

This is motorsport for the mad.......but one of the best events I've done...

Just a few photo's....

Ready for the off.......

Day 2 at Great Ormes Head.....with a failing Propshaft Joint

Hardy Splicer Joint sourced.....and getting the rally mechanic treatment....

Against the odds, and still managed a win !!

Fantastic, love the fact you can lift them up for repairs!

Good on you.

Thumbs up

How cool is that? What did the car cost to prepare? I think this could be much bigger next year....

Thanks both......I went a little overboard and spent too much on it really (full engine and box rebuild)........but that was half the fun - preparation.

Should have done the prop as well !!

If you've not driven one of these, try it.......they're almost as much fun as a Scooby !!

Cool

Wife was stuck on the M6 about 10 years ago when it was snowed in. She was there for over 9 hours. She says best part of it was looking in rear view mirror to see lights approaching fast along central reservation in deep snow.

A yellow Reliant Robin "on the plane" was going for it and got through the lot. She didn't stop laughing for ages!

Fantastic Now that's funny What sort of event is this? Do you really do speed trials or is it like a night rally doing an average speed?

More of an endurance test.......have you ever tried 11.5 hours behind the wheel of one of these ?

More events are planned for the future....Hillclimbs, Sprints, AutoTests...etc...

11 and a half hours They look pretty stressful to drive at speed (if that's possible) with the threat of them tipping over.

What sort of preperation do they have to have?
