Have an Sti v3 with 2 port sol.

Mods coming together are:

Andy F TD05 FE 20g
Gruppe S headers/Helix up pipe
550cc/Walbro/FSE
3'' Magnex decat (but trying to get a sports cat d/p)
Apexi FC with Andy map soon
Sti 8 TMIC
Sti panel filter

Should I be fitting a 3 port, and if so, why?

Graham, why not use the AVCR in conjunction with the Apexi, and use the 3 port from that?

 

Depends on whether Andy requires you to fit one.

I would suspect he does as it offers better boost control than the 2-port.

Not sure if it was the AVC-R or the 3 port on my AndyF upgrade, but the boost control of my car is now very good. The needle on my boost gauge used to 'flutter' about, now its rock steady.

Thanks everyone, I already have a Blitz boost controller to rid me of terrible fuel-cut/overboost 2 years ago. This shows a rock steady 1.31 bar, but it crept there from 1.25 bar.
Can't I use that with my stock Sti v3 solenoid with the Apexi FC?

ps! What colour should the plastic tops be on Denso injectors for '550cc'? Mine have just arrived and they are purple in places, brown in others! There is no number reference at all.ie '550' or xxx550yyy etc.

 

3 port boost solenoid is off no use with the apexi ecu, i sold mine off when i fitted my avcr
