Default ECU Replacement/Upgrade

I have had an offer of a Prodive ECU from a T reg RB5, and was wondering what the likelihood of this ECU being fitted onto my MY02 WRX. If it was possible to do this, what benefits would there be if any, and potential problems if any?

Any help appreciated, as I have no idea about this stuff.

Woody.

the chances of that ecu fitting your car will be from about zero- nothing unless it happened to be a prodrive ecu from a bugeye 01/02 impreza

Different ECU to that used in MY01> so will not work

If it's from an RB5 WR it'll be a PPP ECU, otherwise it'll be a standard AE801
