Unhappy blooming gaskets!!

hello all

i'm getting fed up with blowing gaskets on my uppipe....every few weeks.

gruppe-s headers+matching uppipe... v1.
td05 "free floating"-ie not bolted down.... my96 uk bus

any thoughts...as i want to get my remap finished with andy f...before well lane 9.

is it a chore to refit once welded off car?

I got the guys in the machine shop where I work to flatten the flanges with some wet and dry and a flat plate because I could visably see a bow in the flange face. I have never had any problems since.

Agree with Nez in getting the ends re-faced, particulary the turbo end.I had an original version H&S version on my old MY01 that wouldnt seal but after having it re-faced it was fine.

If you put a metal rule accross the flanges you will see which one's need flatting. Get a machine shop to get them flat before you refit.
