you can import a new one for 16K. Why pay 9K for a 6/7 year old !!

Hey Kempo I hope he sells it too but my point still stands that in this market its much less likely to sell when its above average price. I see MY99's in Dealers for 15K, there is a MY00 here for 16K. Someone else on the board is selling a 97 UK turbo for 8750,MY97's in Autotrader for 8K and these are just starting prices.
I've just recently been through the exact same issue as Col and was trying to add some realism. There are others that are more expensive but they will not sell, same expensive ones turn up week after week in Autotrader and expensive cars appear regularly here. I'm not kicking anyone but your unending support will not help him when hes abroad trying to sell his car remotely as I've just had to do.
To sell your car means it needs to be more attractive than all the rest and today there is plenty of the rest.

See below and Sorry its 16,600 for a new import from Europe, waiting list but still available. 16,800 for a 5 door. Yeah Right as you say !!!

I agree with camk

BTW Kempo, camk was trying to be helpful - so there is no need to shoot him down for that.

Prices of used Scoobs are plummetting - we may not like it but that is the state of affairs.

Well if thats a realistic price, then I'm gonna hold on to mine. £1800 loss over the next 4 years cant be bad.

I see what all of you are saying but......

First point why compare a 9k car with a 16k car? I mean an extra 7k isn't exactly a small sum of cash. 16k buys a new one in Europe but another 7k will buy a P1 or Evo6, and another 7k will get an M3.

I know what you were trying to say but I think the way you wrote it made it look a little funny. In my experience if you had a budget of 9k, then 16k is pushing it a bit.

Also you should compare like for like, UK vs Import and all that.

Personally I drive imports and can't see the price justifaction for UK models, just saying though to avoid another 'which is better' debate only compare the same models.

Agree on the difference on the budget, the point I was trying to make was that a car worth approx 16K depreciates more than 7K worth in a 6 year period, certainly performance cars anyway.

Dave,
Was your car valued at that cash or against a new buy. There is usuallly a difference.

camk, why dont you start a new topic about used car prices instead of filling my post and SeanT's with your bulls**t views.

Drop me a line at stupot@eclipsed.co.uk if your interested.

Hey Col,
Its a public forum and you've posted you're advert on it so don't get p1ssed off because the comments aren't what you want to hear, I'll say no more on the subject and best of luck with the sale but don't wait too long as reality stings.

Regards
Cammy

ok,so it might look a little overpriced, but i have just bought Top Marques and all the scoobs similar to mine are even more expensive.
Remember this is a uk car, totally unmolested with only 2 owners, not some tatty import thats been thrashed and smashed round Tokyo for the first few years of its life.
