I know it sounds daft mate, but I hear Sainsbury's are pretty good on young drivers now. Not to sure what their like when you throw a scoob into the equation though.

Have you tried Admiral? (I realise that elephant are part of the same co.) They recently contacted me following quotes on confused.com and offered me fully comp insurance on an imported RX7 twin turbo for £663. I'm 24 with 5 years NCB.

Also from sxoc-

ok, firstly credit where credit's due. This list is from the MLR's EVO buyer's guide. There's all the usual names in there I recognise plus a few more that have gotta be worth a try.

I moved my WRX to Tesco this year as they were much cheaper for me this time round but last year the cheapest I could get was with Norwich Union Direct (http://www.NorwichUnionDirect.com) so they're worth a try.

You are mad to pay that much for insurance! I don't think i've paid £4200 since I started having car insurance 6 years ago!! You realise that if you wait a year or so you could prolly halve that amount with a year or so NCB?

Still, I guess you'd get a nice car... ignore me if you are loaded tho!

Hi all,

Looking to get to get me a scoob, but so far the majority of the cars out there that ive seen advertised are imports.

Anyone know which companies will do insurance on imports at the mere age of 23?

Got 3 years NCB, and am a professional driver (think that makes a difference with some companies)

Was quoted 1200 fully comp for a 96 standard uk turbo (tesco), but i would prefer to get an import model.

Thanks folks

just got a quote from elephant, £2700 for an import wrx.

Just when i was thinking of going the uk turbo route, prudential come up with a quote of 1600 and no tracker required. Game on!
