Default rasping sound

Also forgot to mention I sometimes get a rasping sound when I change gear between 3000 and 4000rpm. Is this because I am changing gear at full boost? It doesnt happen all the time. Sorry if they are dumb questions I'm a new scooby owner.

I get the same. MY00 has done it since I bought it. Dealers said its the piping (clutch or brake pipes) against the bulk head that vibrates, always seems to do it between 4000 and 5000 rpm especially in 2nd gear. It went away for about 20,000 miles but has recently come back (yesterday).

Oh and idling did same as yours several months ago, drove it hard idling all over the place and nearly cutting out, had MAF replaced all fine now except car seems to miss a beat when revs are held ay 2800 - 3000 rpm which is annoying on the motorway at 70mph forces me to travel at around 90mph to get a smooth run.

hope this helps

M.
