Various reasons why this can occur. What is more annoying is that Subaru have failed to fix this. In the two Scoobs I've owned (MY00 Classic and MY01 WRX), I've had a total of 4 clutches - they've all juddered at some point.

I had a problem with my MY02 car. During certain times of the year it would judder for the frist 5 minutes until it had heated up.

Reading the posts here it seems that the friction material on the plate does not heat consistently and produced hot and cold spots. Later the whole plate is warm consistently meaning the problem disappears after a while.

When the dealer replaced mine, he said that Subaru have fixed the problem in the last year or so. Mine was replaced under warranty.

Maybe just get the friction plate replaced?

Replace clutch and flywheel with aftermarket jobs...then you'll have no prob and can up the bhp lots.
