Default saving stuff ?

whats the best way to save all my video and music files that are currently on my pc so i can wipe it clean and start again ?

I want to get rid of Kazaa aswell but it always seems to leave something in the system....... any ideas ?

burn them into CDR or DVD? or into an external hdd enclosure? then format your hdd and reinstall the OS.

roughly 2'000 songs and about 150 films.... another hard drive the best way ?

From smallest capacity to largest...

Floppy disk (1.4mb)
Zip disk (100mb > 250mb) (needs zip drive)
USB stick (28mb? > 512mb)
CD-R (650mb > 700mb)
DVD-/+R (4.7gb)
External HDD (10gb > 300GB)

Take your pick

34.8Gb in songs.... 12.4Gb in films and then roughly 6Gb of pictures

You can try zipping them across DVD-Rs. It may take 10 disks or so, but that's cheaper that a new HDD.

One seems to be much bigger than the other...


I tend to use one disk partitioned into two (or two drives): one has the OS, apps etc, the other has all the downloads. That way when I bork the OS (as an overclocker it's always when rather than if) all the downloads are fine.
