Hi guys

I'm after upgrading the Ram in my computer. I'm after PC 2100 DDR SDRAM 133 MHz.

Can anyone recommend any good sites on the net?

I assume you mean DDR RAM? It can be SDRAM or DDR, but not both.

I 'd buy it from Overclockers.co.uk. I'd go for the Crucial. You might be able to shave a few pence off getting it elsewhere, but the service at OcUK would take some beating.

Im not sure what type of RAM i just ran some free system info software and thats what it came up with.

Is there any other way to tell what RAM i have without taking it out???

If its DDR 2100 it runs at a double clock bus speed of 2x133mhz = 266mhz.

 

The fact it's called "PC2100" suggests that it's DDR. What CPU is it?

AMD 1800+ not sure if theres anything else to go with it, as i said before im a bit of a computer biff

personally have had a poor time with ebuyer - i would go to someone else and not worry that I might be paying 50p more, i use novatech who have been very good

I'd suggest Crucial.com.

 

OK, I stand corrected. But I don't know anyone apart from some manufacturers and you who calls DDR SDRAM, even if it's technically true. Most people use it to mean the old single-data rate stuff. But I think we're agreed on Crucial...

Another vote for Crucial here. If you know the make/model of your PC, then you can use the "Wizard" on their site to identify exactly what spec of memory you should be buying. I've bought oodles of Crucial memory over the years and have never had any problems whatsoever with their kit.
