does legacy and impreza share same engine?

dunno if this helps but tonight i took my mass air flow meter out of my 2001my wrx to clean it and did a search engine search on the part number and it came back as being fitted to impreza and legacy not sure if that indicates the same air box but does slim down the maf sensor.....
