Question Walboro pump.Rubber Seat

Does the walboro pump require a different rubber seat as the oem pump is huuuuuuuuugggeeee compared to it? Also do you attach the filter to the walboro unit with the circlip from the old unit?

Cheers

When I changed my OE fuel pump for a Walbro it came with both a new clip and new rubber seat.

Although the rubbers seats are a slightly different shape and size you could probably get away with it as it's held down quite firmly by the fuel hose coming from it.

Thanks Zhastaph.
Did you also have to snip the wires as well and fit spade connectors? The wiring for the OEM pump has circular connectors that bolt-on with small nuts and bolts, whereas the walboro unit has spade connectors.

Cheers

Yup exactly. I also dropped the little 'unit' that connects in parallel with the pump. I'm not sure what this does, I assumed it woz a suppresor but I've sinced heard stories that it's there to help with emmisions/economy by slowing down the pump on cruise

Nope its a suppressor to damp out voltage spikes and back emf pulses from the pump feeding into the car loom.

Thanks guys. ( Especially Bob for bamboozlin me with tech speak ) I have a 94 WRX which if im correct, doesnt have this suppressor? Have snipped the wires etc, goin to modify the old rubber seat slightly as I dont like the way the pump is sitting in it at the moment. Would rather do it now than wait till its back in the tank and it falls out of position!

Last question I promise! : Will it be ok to run the car for a short time without the uprated FPR? I take it will be ok for a couple of days as long as i take it easy? Just until I get a chance to fit it.

Thanks in advance
