Unhappy Possible Gearbox problems on a Type R??

Was out for a drive a couple of weeks ago and slipping nicely through the gears when I missed 3rd at a fair speed and crunched the box a little.

When I parked up...was virtually impossible to engage Reverse without a number of try's.

Since then it has gotten easier to get it into reverse although still knotchy.

Heard a slight ticking sound today when I started up and on idle which when you press the clutch pedal, the noise stops. It returns in 2nd gear only while driving.

Gearbox is not as smooth as when I first got the car....are these all signs of wear and am I looking at a re-build??

Car is a 1 owner and imported from new with only 27k miles...

Any idea's??

thanks.

You didn't do it any good did you!

Sounds like some damage to be obvious, and the only fix is a rebuild.
Will it get worse and wreck the box is a big question, or do it now so only small parts need replacing, 3rd synchro, maybe selectors.
If you are worried, call David on www.apiengines.co.uk and talk to him (very user friendly) or track down Rally Colin on these threads, I think he has answered some others on transmissions.
At a guess you are looking at £500+.

Hope that helps a bit,
