Default cheap exhaust

Hi,

Ive had my 2001my bugeye wrx for a couple of months now and i cant stand the standard exhaust any longer all i can hear is the turbo whistling and a muted exhaust note

i want a decent sounding exhaust note, but not too loud that motorway driving becomes a nightmare.

only problem is im on a stretched budget and ideally wanted to remove the restricitive sections of the exhaust first.

can anybody give me some advice as to what would make it sound better and give more performance as a first step, what type, make, who from etc and then at a later date i want to get the full exhaust done.

im thinking of taking out the cat etc will the standard system still bolt up to the new pipe etc?

help me dudes i want some flat four burble!!!!!

Buy a copy of Japanese Car Performance magazine. Find a specialist in your area and call him. They are sure to have a good range of options.
I have a secondhand Mongoose full decat 3'' on my Sti v3, sounds good, not to noisey and is stainless.
If you are to pay someone to change the system, make sure you get the standard one back complete. A full decat will not pass the MoT in the future.
Changinging the downpipe is a sod of a job even if you are used to DIY on cars.
Hope this helps you.

Hi

I do Magnex Exhausts, as well as loads of others, that not only sound really nice, but are quite cheap too, get in touch and I'll mail you some info...
