Just come back from 4 days in Rome - mainly business but some sightseeing etc
- but there are hardly ANY scoobs there
I saw a blobeye STi and a Forester - that was it!
Anyway, what I'm really commenting on is the standard of their driving - incredible!
They are just soooooo laid back. Someone cuts them up - no problemo. Pulls out in front - no problemo. In fact for the most part they drive as if they expect someone to pull out on them! And the thing is that they will
Plus, speed limits, stop signs, pedestrian crossings, double white lines, all get ignored!
The result of this is that everyone calmly gets where they want to go and the traffic flows smoothly & it all seems to be done entirely SAFELY.
Prehaps as part of driving lessons, all UK drivers should go to Rome for a day's driving...

....and on the Autostrada you're lucky to have a gnats pube of a gap between bumpers!!!
That's particularly worrying when they're mostly admiring themselves/ doing their hair in the rear view!

When in Rome ...
Yup, it's a sort of organic anarchy, different from Paris.
I loved driving around there.
Only caveat: when it becomes green, don't try to hurry, as there will still be people from the other side "making it"

Couldn't agree more! I am 6 hrs driving away from Rome and every time I go there I'm enjoying it! I think every driver should spend at least a week there to improve his driving habits. :-)
