Default Chasing WR1 delivery?

Hi

I'm trying to chase my dealer for delivery info, but I'm not sure the dealer knows who to call at IM, he's calling "Allocations". Does anyone know who he (or I) should be calling?

The car is allocated, insured, paid & registered.

Nick,

I just phoned IM and told the lady on the switchboard I was a very disgruntled customer waiting for a WR1 and they put me through to the right person.

Worked wonders as my car was 'expedited' and despite being my dealers 3rd car ordered it was the first to arrive!

Good luck

Robin

The person who I dealt with back in March/April is Sam Burton at Subaru head office, sounds like your car is very close.

I just got a call from my dealer. It seems that my car is ready, but they're waiting to get enough cars to put on a transporter - which will take about a week for christsakes!

I think my dealer's pretty grumpy about it too as I've had their brand new Legacy demo for nearly a month!

My dealer suggested the transport from Prodrive was a potential hold up but the dealer said he would collect it in person from Prodrive so I didn't have to wait any longer.

I would rather not know it was ready!!

I was told when waiting for my WR1 not to call IM. The number being floated about is for dealer use only and they've been getting 50 calls a day direct from customers which is jamming up their resources.

Was also told that the more you call the longer you're going to wait!

p.s. All the WR1's have been completed - or so I've been led to believe

If we can get evidence of that, we can sue them for damages (lost use of car, sick with worry etc). Remember, the cars are OUR property that's being denied to us though IM's incompetence.

My dealer can't get any STis because they're being jammed up at Quedgely because all the WR1s are in the way!

Not sure I follow the 'incompetence' remark? As I understand it, they predicted back in December or January that deliveries would be taking place between April and August - seems they are pretty much on target so far?

Anyway, I'm sure the comment about you having to wait longer was implying that the more time someone has to spend on the phone, chasing info or answering questions, then the less time they would have available to actually process the orders - I doubt they meant they would put yours to the back of the queue if you pestered them.

On the other hand, d'ya wanna risk it?

Spoke to one of the top people at IM and this was the reply
Dealer registers car and faxes IM with copies of registration and tax disc
Bits fitted at depot in Glouc 15- 18 working days after receiving fax from dealer, then sent to dealer on transporter delay can arise here as they can only go on certain ones due to spoiler so 20 -23 days from being registered as long as dealer sends fax.
Hope this helps

I have also heard the low spoiler excuse. This was obviously a surprise for IM as they didn't expect to be selling the WR1 & didn't know it's height off the ground. Yeah, crazy right? If any of us ran our business like this, what would happen?

Another excuse I've heard is that IM put the cars on transporters so that they have the "least drops" possible. I suppose they don't want transporters sitting in too many M-way service stations overnight. But IM have complete control over this. Why is it a surprise to them?

Another industry insider told me that IM may be losing the Subaru UK franchise. HOORAY!!!!!

Rofl, you must be a real pleasure to deal with...

I suggest that if you want an off the shelf car then get something more mainstream in future.

People are often happy to see the back of me.

Remember that when WR1 owners placed their orders, most if not all of them did not know the crap they'd be put through by International Muppets!

I've just phoned IM and been told to chase my dealer up as they should know when the car will be with them!

No joy as of yet from the dealer.

How did anyone else manage to get any information out of IM?

I think my call to International Muppets prompted them to call my dealer, who then called me.

I think someone posted ealier that they got much the same response until they said that they were unhappy with the information being supplied by their dealer, and they wanted to hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak.
