Default Shudder (missfire???) under hard acceleration

Out driving last night, noticed that when driving along 2nd gear, slowed down for speed bumps, car was shuddering as I built up speed again and thought very little of it.

However, once I was out on the open road, I noticed that under hard acceleration I was getting a shudder/hesitation/drop off in power round about 4,500 - 5,000 revs in 3rd and 4th gears.

Have done a quick search and suspect it might be my plug leads, as I had a service about 800 mls ago and had sprk plugs replaced. Also changed the air filter from a preformance filter back to a standard one.

Any thoughts anyone.

norry.

I had exactly the same problem as you, so recently changed the plugs and still the same so I took them out and regapped them to subaru recommendations. It is now fine, You may want to check this before forking out loads of money on leads especially if it is a phase 1 engine with slanty I/C, coil packs and are quite expensive?

I have booked the car in for a look over at the garage that did the service.

I will suggest these as possibilities as well.

Cheers, norry.
