Do air filters improve fuel efficiency?

as title says.

I'm looking at getting an STI panel filter for my classic.

amy thoughts?

a partially blocked filter will reduce fuel economy. so a new filter may improve economy but only to the levels that it should do.

a good quality filter will improve fuel economy but only by a small amout but you could get better responce for the engine because of less cloging and better filtration and flow....chris
