Post High CO2 at Idle

Guys

does any one know what would cause high CO2 at idle. Just took my car for an MOT and it failed on this. at 3000rpm the emissions are within limits but at idle they are high. Any ideas whats causing this. Is it just ready for a tune up ?

Cheers

sounds like the o2 sensor, afaik the sensor doesn't operate on open(ish) throttle.

a new one is in the region of £180 from the dealer, but you can buy self fit bosches etc for way less.

google o2/lambda sensors and see what comes up

Most you should pay from a Dealer is £120. Still expensive though.

Thumbs up

thanks guys, I called Subaru today, and they said it could be either

a. o2 sensor
b. fuel/air mix sensor
c. idle control valve which costs 220 + vat

damn thing, cant understand why at 3k rpm everything is fine :S

Anyways ive got it booked in another Subaru service centre on Monday, to get it hooked up to the Subaru Test Computer, costs only £30 so I thought I would give that a go before buying anything.

If anyone has more ideas please do say

thanks guys
