Default tdo5 is it front entry? plz help:]

now guys my tdo4 is on its last legs on a 98 uk model
ive got a chance of a tdo5 but im not sure if its a front entry
im presuming mines a front entry because the air intake goes in the front??
plz dont take the pish im green as grass:]

No, it's not front entry. It has the 90 degree bend on it at the front.

andyf converts them to front entry, around the £100-150 mark i think

I just fit this turbo in my MY98 Turbo, you should do the front entry convertion and after that is plug and play. Sure if you want more boost you'll need fuel mods as a new fuel pump, maybe a fuel pressure regulator and so on. Also you will note a increase in lag. My TD05 begins boost at 3500 RPM and is able to give 20 psi@4000 RPM.

Also something which some people wont tell you is if you have a phase 2 engine you will need to have a bolt hole cut away (namely where the gearbox mates onto the engine block). I'm guessing you have a phase 2 engine even though you said my98 because I thought the phase 1 my98 came with a td05 and not a td04 anyway.

Looking at the turbo you have and the FE-TD05 I have in my car the only difference is that huge right angled elbow on it, i'm guessing they just chop that back and tidy it up.
