Red face Scooby Cops Near Basingstoke !!!!!!!!!!!!

Spotted on the A287 this morning by Stiffy Bone on her way to work.

By all accounts in a silver STi!!!!!!!!!

If you are one of the above scooby cops, what a fine job you do officer!!

If you don't look at the site (which I hope you don't) you are sneaky buggers!

Thats better

I know there is a Paramedic who drives around in a Silver STI near to Basingstoke as I've been unfortunate enough to have been at the scene of an accident when he's turned up. I've also seen it being driven around a few times since then.

That sounds possible. The girl who saw it said it was a silver STi and the only thing that gave it away was the blue lights as it roared past her. It was not stickered up or anything. She has said that they looked like coppers though (white shirts instead of the green ones paramedics usually wear).

In fairness to Gooner, My original post was a fair bit stronger than the edited version now shown. you know the kind of thing, questioning parentage and the like .

The Silver STI driven by the paramedic is not stickered up either, so I'm guessing that it was more than likely this being driven around.

That's the great thing about forums like this one though. Within 14 hours we have gone from thinking the worst to realising something different. To all intents and purposes it could have quite easily been a police motor and people should be warned of it's existence as soon as possible. As it turns out, it is much better than people had feared. The advantage of having eyes and ears across a wide area as in this instance is priceless.

Sadly no!! Hampshire Constabulary are far to tight to buy the best kit for the job....that's why Volvo's are order of the day. Had to laugh the other day, by the time a Volvo traffic car had got to top speed chasing a scooby, it was too far ahead to see it.....the only sad thing is that the absolute pr**k that stole it didn't get caught....i hope they recovered the car, the owner must have been gutted!!!

With the cameras on the A339 soon to become live, I am sure that Police Dpt. Revenues will increase somewhat. Not that Basingstoke Police need it, a vast majority of their cars are Volvo T5's and BMW 330 Diesel Estates!

With regards to this "Police" STi, I believe you are refering to a "new shape" Subaru? If so, it is probably not even a Paramedic, but fast response FIRE car. I live about 30 metres from Basingstoke Firestation, and a Silver Scooby is quite often parked outside, with the blue lights on its roof. It's not Police.

Must say Hampshire Fire Service have taste, before the STi, it was a Audi TT, before that it was an older shape WRX

The paramedic people were running around in a Legacy around Basingstoke for a while... until it was smashed up!

I have to admit, I have always wondered why the police do not use scoobys. Cost / performance /off road attributes, they are a much better option for catching car thiefs and proper villains (not minor motoring offences!!!! sorry about that, couldn't help myself). Plus the fact that you would look sooooooooo much cooler

So what are you driving "off duty"
