With reference to the 'rear ligt clusters' post, while at the Essex meet last week I saw a couple of VERY nice rear fog lights. Very thin and just short enought to fit underneath the rear bumber ( before the number plate section, technical term ), one was on a 22B typeUK and the other on an Sti (can't remember the colour).

Can anyone tell me where I can buy one? They look very neet, very cool and I am about to change my rear clusters on my Silver STI V (the dealer put UK spec clusters in, which don't look anywhere near as cool as the red/white ones).

What is the easiest route for the wire from the switch to the fog light, I presume you have to get the wire outside the car somehow?

My existing fog light is wired to the correct switch, but the wire travels inside the car to the rear light cluster, my new fog light will be outside the car, on the bottom of the rear bumper, hence the confusion.

I put an LED strip type fog light on my car (fixed under the OS bumper). The wire comes out of a grommet behind the number plate. (where the number plate light wire comes out)

Where did you get your LED strip from, the only source I have found that sell a 6" strip is Extreme. Before I order this one I would like to know where other people have got theirs.

Dave, I had one of the reversing lights in the rear cluster re wired to a switch on the dash and fitted a red bulb instead of a clear. It works OK and easy to wire. Also looks a lot neater than fitting an aftermarket light under the bumper.

How did you guys work out the pin outs on the switch ?

I assume you have used the proper switch rather than a Halford bodge-on !

if you use a multimeter and between each pin and every other you can work out there function
there are six pins
two connect to the switch
two connect to each bulb

using a continuity tester figure out which pins are linked, then remove either of the bulbs or press the switch, if the continuity becomes zero you have found the function of the pin.

once you have this you can draw out the circuit and wire it up.
