squeeky brakes
I've had the same problem with mine almost since new, even the garage couldn't cure it.
I took all the pads off today, cleaned up but also applied loads of COPPER-EASE?
HEY PRESTO! the squeals gone (just make sure you don't get any on your discs)

Same problem with my MY00. Now had pads out twice and done the copper slip trick without any joy. Goes into dealer Friday and they can sort the ******* thing out. Squeeks when braking slightly and when turning left without braking. One of the pads is wearing unevenly so it is probably a stuck piston.
Otis.
Otis.
I'm getting the Primera tarted up for selling prior to getting the Scoob, and got the front brake pads replaced as part of the service. Unfortunately, the brakes then squealed (- no squeal at all before they were replaced).
It got so bad that I couldn't bear driving it - and used the wife's car instead. Rang the garage to let them know that I was less than ecstatic, and they took the car back and replaced the pads with harder compound ones at no extra cost.
Result - brake squeal totally eradicated.

Otis, we never mentioned this on Sunday.
My n/s rear left squeaks too. Not all the time though. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason when it does. It started after about 8k miles or so I think. It hadn't done it before I had the 7.5 k service, so I never mentioned it to Robinsons. I will at next service.
Have you had any of the clutch judder? I get it very occasionally, so infrequently that it feels like it's my fault. I will mention this to Robinsons again at the next service.
Oh, yeah sorry, the answer is "they all do that sir".

I've had squealing brakes and occassional clutch judder for more the last year or so! (MY97) I've had the pads deglazed by the dealer, but within a week they were squealing again. The clutch judder is usually when cold. I've just had to get used to it.

PS Braking very hard from 70-30 does help a bit, but not for very long!

BarryK,
According to a thread I've just read if you hold onto something metal as you get out of the car the clutch judder and squeeking brakes cease immediately. Don't believe it though, just another example of the tormented minds that frequent this normally informative BBS
.
I do get clutch judder about as often as you descibe. I find holding it on the handbrake for a very brief time as I put the car in the garage that night sees it off for a week or so. May shorten the life of the clutch though if done too often (obviously) but at least you don't look a **** as you drive past the postman every a morning.
As for the brakes, I had this on the last Scoob I had. They put it down to not being hard enough on the brakes which, if you were to do my journey to work every morning, you would tend to agree with. My workmate John has the same car as us but as he's on the road most of the time has no problems. Pretty sure it is a stuck piston on mine. Will let you know what they say on Friday.
Finally, I bow to the superior being. That "touch something metal" is a pearler. Had to check my calender to see if it was early April!
Keep 'em comin'

PS. If you're driving round with your brakes on all the time aswell does this mean my car is still quicker than yours?

Otis,
Made me laugh that. My postman looks like a ****, why shouldn't I?
I don't know how I cope, juddering clutch, iffy auto choke acceleration, squealy brakes, being zapped by the mekon when I get out and forget to touch tin, and the car in front is still an Otis!
Graeme,
It would appear from assorted threads that if one complains long enough the dealer will change the clutch, and possibly the flywheel, under warranty. After all it doesn't cost them anything and they still get paid.
