Question Air Con Question

I have a MY99 with air con on it which when on yesterday only seems to throw out cool rather than cold air.
Would i be right in thinking it needs re gassing
Is it expected when the car is almost 5 years old ?
How much do the dealers charge for this ? (it's going in for a service in a week or so)
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Certainly sounds like it needs it. Prices vary but don't pay over 80ukp inc vat.

Its not unusual to have to recharge air con every 2 years,so i would guess that your 5 yr old system will probably need regassing.
Try and find a local private air con/refridgeration specialist, dealers usually use them themselves,so you can cut out the middle man.
A bloke local to me charges £30 cash to give it a purge and regas-Havnt had to do the scoob yet though

You should run it monthly regardless of weather to stop the seals hardening and causing leakages.

Normally better to leave it on a lot of the time - as switching if off for the Winter and leaving it off for ages can do more damage than leaving it on all the time.

After all, it only uses the real juice up if it needs to cool the car lots
