Default Crashing into 2nd Gear

If I accelerate hard from a standstill going from 1st gear to 2nd, the gears sometimes crash hitting the second cog. I`m not dumping the clutching or anything just releasing the clutch and then hitting the gas hard. The cars only done 11,000 miles the gearbox isn`t knacking is it?? Or is it me not engaging the clutch long enough to enable a smooth change into 2nd, trying to change too quick??

Just wondered if this happens much to anyone else when doing a spirited sprint from a standstill.

Maybe you are snatching the change too quickly, its often a matter of timing between operating the clutch and operating the gear lever. First gear is pretty low geared and there is a bit of a step between 1st and 2nd as well. As long as you realise that it is not good for the mechanicals if you always drive it like that.

Go back to your dealer and moan hard - it sounds like the sychro is knackered, it happened to both my classics. Don't leave it - it will get worse and will crunch at increasingly lower revs.

I wish I still had my warranty....
