On way to work I triggered a camera on opposite side of road! It was a 40 mph limit and I was doing 47ish, but my side of road had no calibration marks. Will I get done for this????

If it was a standard GATSO (Grey Box with yellow plate) then no.

If it was a TRUVELLO then probably yes.

 

Was it someone in a white van? if it was iv been told they can only catch u if there on the same side road as u. not sure if its true but i got flashed doin 40 on a 30 when they were on other side of road n i neva heard anythin n that was september last year.

 

Truvellos work from wires in the road. If it was on the other side of the road the wires would have been in the opposite carriageway and you would not have triggered it. So if you triggered it then it was a Gatso and you will not be done for going towards it.

Whenever I see one on the other side I always give it some welly and try and set it off, very satisfying to see the flash and know they can't do you....

 

The camera vans can do you from anywhere. If you remember the two bikers who got sent down for doing 150ish, the tosser was on the other side of a dual carriageway in a lay-by, I was always remember this when giving it some in scoob or on my bike.

 

Thanks for the replies folks. It was a Gatso so fingers crossed it shouldn't have caught me. Lesson learned though.....need to slow down!

 

Van got me three weeks ago from the opposite side of the road.
68 in a 50, 3 points and £60.
Apparently they take a couple of shots at you, thank god i uprated my brakes !!
