Default Getting Air con fitted

Hello

Just been phoning around none subaru garages to see hoe much it will cost to get air con fitted into a impreza and i got two prices:
£700 for air con unit + £450 fitting =£1150
another £1500 fully fitted.

Thats a rip off. I think Subaru charges £1000

Ray
I had air con fitted to my 99 spec uk car fitted in August 2000, i paid £1000 fully fitted by my local main dealer i guess prices could have gone up since then.

Desperate for aircon, huh

I thought i'd miss it after having it in my last car, but my scoob never steams up so its not been a problem. Too hot? all 4 windows down + increase speed some more.

Subaru used to charge £1500+ and then they reduced it to £1000

Wind the windows down and put the money towards insurance & petrol

Cheers,

Ian.

I had air con fitted to my MY98 a couple of years ago. The work was not done by Subaru themselves as they contracted the work out to a company called Coolair UK Ltd (01522 682288) from Lincoln. Give them a call they may be able to do it cheaper if you go direct. My installation cost £1K ish, via the dealer.

cheers

Ray

I thought about getting air con fitted a few weeks ago . Was getting really fed up trying to find a low milage MY00 Deep Blue Mica with air con . Then one turned up on here just over a week ago air con and sunroof (Berkshire) so it was'ent to far away .I bought it and the weekend done few hundred miles with mainly sunroof open . If you keep on looking for one you will find exactly what you are looking for

I don't use mine - it blunts the performance :-)

Mike

PS. I'd spend that money on PPP.

Wink Coolair air-con

I bought my MY98 Turbo about six weeks ago. I nearly didn't because it doesn't have a sun roof or air-con, but it was such a good price I couldn't resist it. I live in Bournemouth, where a new Scooby dealer's just opened, but Ashburton Motor Works - the south Devon dealer close to my parents - has just been given some sort of award for offering the best service in the UK. They've also been around for about 20 years so I figured they'd know a thing or two about having aftermarket air-con fitted. And indeed they do. I've just booked it in to have it installed by Coolair and have been quoted a very precise £1116 all in.

One caveat: the service manager at Ashburton says he was told that Coolair have stopped making the Impreza kits and there are only a few left. I've no reason to doubt him because he's not on commission or anything. Besides, I've also booked it to have a friggin shielded Sigma ECU done at the same time.

PPP and windows down don't help you when you are sat motionless on the M25 roadworks at J13

Air con does though
