What Exhaust?? Want one not too loud....
Hang on - this is Wheels Tyres and Brakes. I think the exhaust stuff normally goes in Drivetrain ?
I think only a moderator can move it for you though, have to wait for one to come along.
As it happens, I recommend the Prodrive Back Box (only available second hand or part of the PPP) it is not much noiser than standard when not under load (I tested at 84db at Goodwood at 2/3 revs) but when under load it gets much louder and starts to sound like a jet plane taking off (I got black flagged for 98db on the same day).
Have heard a ScoobySport Backbox, but for me at least it was just too loud when your not gunning it. I could hear him coming to my house two streets away !!
(Ps it did sound awesome thought

I've just had a Magnex 3.5" round backbox fitted and it sounds great at tickover with the window open. Still good but not deafening when the windows shut. I've heard that aftermarket exhausts on a Scooby can be quite booming when the windows are all up.
At high revs it becomes quieter and quite easy to cruise on a Motorway with the music on...........
No performance increase felt though.
This week the centre pipe goes on. Hoping for a bit of extra torque when the old centre cat has gone. Also a bit of extra noise......

There is now (actually, has been for a while
) a Prodrive silencer for the Turbo which is available on it's own from your Subaru dealer. It has an oval tailpipe branded WRSport and as with the Performance Package silencer, is quiet on the cruise as well as giving some aural stimulation on boost.

Having just purchased said WRSport backbox I would strongly recommend one. The build quality is stunning and the sound is superb. A deeper but quieter tone than the Scoobysport and at times even has bit of a Group N sound to it I'd say.
Very satisfied and it keeps me warranty intact!!!

1/ definatly , nice stainless unit, oval pipe 115mm by 91mm with WRSport embossed on the top.
2/ yep no problems with this , as with any cold start you would always poddle away from home slowly!! oh and you can definatly hear the boxer beat.
3/ no probs, did the A13 at the weekend 60-80mph could still hear capital radio fine (original scoob speakers).
4/ I got mine 2nd hand at very reasonably price (thanks mark), i saw the original invoice (subaru main dealer) £297 last nov, fitted it myself in about 45 mins(never been under the car before).
hope the above helps

hi Peter,
fitted a prodrive wr sport backbox (oval tailpipe)last week, it sounds great at idle, with a nice burbble on the move and when gunned, but very livable on the motorway when cruising, so all in all its a good choice.

Ray,
This Prodrive backbox seems good to me. I would like to improve the note from the car without affecting the internal noise level too much. My main criteria would be:
1. Looks good.
2. Releases that nice the boxer engine sound, without waking the neighbours.
3. Does not make lenghtly motorway driving a painfull experience i.e. I would like to hear the radio.
4. Does not cost the earth.
I would appreciate your feedback on these points.
Also, where did you get it and how much?
Thanks.

I've got a SS downpipe with Magnex decat centre (with the resonator) and a Magnex backbox. It sounds nice without being too loud (certainly a big difference when compared to the full Scoobysport system on my g/f's car). It's still enough to get a few looks going down the high street though. I'm going to be changing mine in a couple of weeks (want mine a little louder
), so if you're interested mail me. I'll be selling the backbox and centre section.
Cheers
Chris
