Turbo blades

Turbo blades
after removing my td04 for replacement ive noticed that a few of the inlet blades are bent
they wernt bent when i installed the turbo approx 5 months ago
what would cause the blades to bend?
the turbo has been ran @ a high ish speed (norm 1.2 bar) and has had the recirc valve adjusted quite stuff to give a lift off chatter
i was under the impression that the td04/5 turbos could handle this
could it be any thing else?

cant remember how many of the top ofmy head but theres a few with sum tiny ckips in them as well
the center seams to be fine
its just the outer edges that seam a bit batterd?

Cant imagine something getting in because of where its located, only thing i can think of is damage whilst reinstallation. But youve already stated it was fine when you installed it.
Longshot but is there any chance the blades are catching?

If the blades are damaged on the long side (ie the side facing the intake pipe) then something has gone thrugh the turbo, and it really doesn't have to be very big to do significant damage to turbo blades running at 150,000 rpm. If the tops of the blades are damaged (ie it hits the housing) the bearing surface is dead. If it's the former it'll most likely carry on (I used to run a Renault 11 turbo which had had something through it at some stage but the turbo survived no probs). If it's the second option you'll need to find yourself another turbo.

the parts that have been damaged are the outside of the top edge on the corners
when i swapped the turbo i noticed my inlet pipeto turbo joine was split and ragged, i repaired it as best as i could until i can get another one (probably a samco one), its posiible a section of rubber managed to get in but i wouldnt expect rubber to damage the blades (it is quite soft rubber)
maybe it did, its the only way i can imagine sumthing getting in, when my previous turbo let go it went with a bang and shatterd the baldes and i checked the inlet a few times for any specs of metal and found next to nothing
the turbo is now classed as my spare anyway, im keeping it just to keep me on the road if the vf23 fails (unlikley as its only got approx 16000 miles on it)
might get a knackerd td04 of my mate and swap the wheel over sumtime
