Default asking 4 ur advice sti 2002

just got my first scooby not even ever test driving one.im now a happy man apart from

1. i get a loud howling noise after 120 mph,.people say its the window seal , if so any thing i can do

2. i get a wining noise come from the rear. is it the diff and is it supposed to do it. or is it a wheel bearing

Gag your passenger...

Sorry had to be done It's also been suggested that it's the gap in the mirror hinge and that if you fold the mirror and stick a bit of insulating tape on the front edge of the exposed surface and then fold it back it'll fill the gap well enough to stop it.

The noise from the rear could be dif, wheel bearing, or even tyres. My '97 wagon was diagnosed by the dealers with a failed rear dif pinion bearing. Fortunately before I put it in for this (£700) I replaced the tyres - problem solved !! The noisy tyres were Pirellis, the quiet ones Goodyear F1s.
