Default EJ22T block with MY98 heads...

Hi:

Does anyone have tried this? Is a "Plug and play" operation? What kind of mods you have to do? or simply Am I crazy in the brain?

The stroke is the same in EJ20 and EJ22 but the bore is different. The compression in both, EJ22 turbo and EJ20G is 8,0:1. There is a guy in Aus who did this with his Legacy RS, but I'd like to know if some scooby guy did this.

Thanks in advance

Cant see why not.

People are using same heads for the 2.0 on their 2.5

And flucking up the compression ratios!

Long as the compressrion ratios are good then you are fine.

But ideally I would port and polish the heads to suit the 2.2 as I had done on mine.

I have an EJ22 block with Cosworth Pistons etc as well as heads that have been ported to suit.

I also have a EJ20 converted to a 2.2 and again ported and polished to suit.

Couple of people running 2.5 now with std heads and not buggering up compression ratios - and they seem to be going quite well

Mmmm... but the bore in the EJ22T is 5 mm bigger Are there any problem without port the header? Does the water jackets match?

Or Are we missing something? because these could be a very cheap stroker kit...

Well, you're right. Here in my country you can get some of them. By example a Legacy EJ20 block is possible for about US$ 650...

I think it could be a good price for a 2.2 stroker....
