Default battery dead after 6 months - free replacment?

OK, left my car (new 53 reg WRX) for 4 days on the driveway, come back and the battery is dead. Subaru assistance jumpstarted me and I left the engine running after the drive, so should be OK for a while, but what do I do longer term?

Can I just contact my Subaru dealer and demand a new one fitted free? Is it under the terms of the warranty?

Bloody pain in the **** for a car thats only just 6 months old

This is an all too common problem with new age cars, especially those with Tracker.
Your dealer should replace the battery with a higher capacity one (60Ah as opposed to the standard 48Ah) Quite a few of us on here have had this done.

yep, got a tracker. Stupid for it to run down in just 4 days though. Usually it gets a full week of 2x30 minute trips a day, which should be plenty for it.

Cheers for the reply - is it a free replacment? How do you pronounce 60Ah? Is it Amp Hours? Want to sound like I know what I'm talking about so they don't give me any flannel.

Just had mine replaced at 11 months old(3700 miles) was left for 4 days then went flat with no prior warning.
providing your alternator is charging and there is no excessive curent draw when everything is turned off i suspect you have a faulty cell, your warranty will cover this no problem.
