Cool Excellent Liverpool and Victoria quote

As my existing insurer (Axa via A-plan brokers) decided to put my insurance up by over £300 this year (taking it up to £999 ), I decided to ring around a bit for my renewall. L&V gave me the best quote.....£708

This is for my 02 Impreza Prodrive UK Sti with a couple of non-engine mods (guages, backbox etc).

Even better, it covers me for track days as well, so I think I can feel a few coming on this year now I don't have to get special insurance for each day

I hate to be rude, but my friend is also trying to get insured on the same year and model of car - how old are you?

Iain i too was with a-plan axa and they are trying to put mine up also.. i have already told them to poke it and im going to L and V. Just out of interest how many years NCB do you have? and your age please coz L and V want £950 from me still..im 34 with 6 years NCB..

One other point about A-plan--AXA. When i asked for a re-quote they wanted chassis number and chapter and verse to prove it was a UK spec car coz they thought it may have been a grey import... This i wasnt happy with coz i have been insured with them for the last 6 years and have never been asked for chassis number even with scooby.....They didnt ask me last year when they insured the car so why ask now???....Not happy at all

Cool

I'm 32 with 8 years no claims (and 3 points which are about to expire).

Interestingly, when the A-plan renewall quote came through, the form had my date of birth incorrect, and they had a tick in the "not modified" checkbox, despite the fact that they had all this information last year

I've been with them for 8+ years, but not any more.....

fyi

The postcode makes a huge difference... I used to live 6 miles from Bristol, now I live 5 miles from Bristol in a different area (Northwest instead of Northeast) in a nicer area and my insurance quote with LV is £200 higher and thats with having a garage with the new property..... but LV dont care about this

Iain was that quote of £708 including the 3 points, as Im currently with L&V & paying about £100 more without the points, but not for long as Ive have just recieved 3 points for speeding.

Thanks Ticky

Yes, that's hat they told me as well. As long as you haven't had a ban, they don't care...

Got my renewal from A-Plan today as well.........talk about pi$$ take. Bounced it up an extra £50 on the initial cost but worst of all excess went up to £400!

L&V will be getting a call very soon....fingers crossed they can give me a better deal.

L&V: £750 quote for me on a 94 wrx with no mods. I'm 34 with 6 points (which as said earlier they don't care about - speeding), and two claims last year - motorbike thefts.

They also are not bothered at all about security, I asked if it would be cheaper if the car I was thinking of buying had an alarm/tracker and they said nope.

Tesco wouldn't quote unless tracker fitted, and Norwich Union Direct quoted £950 but only if I fitted a Cat 1 alarm/immob.
