who's best for rebuilds then?
as above as you cant rely on places to give the right goods. it's bvasically pointing towards a rebuild and was wondering where to go and if i should get uprated parts fitted. the money side IS an issue so no big engine rebuilds with parts to support 700bhp are needed

Have you spoke to David at API? If not, would be worth a try - they can either rebuild yours or sell you a suitable bottom end I guess. I found him very helpful when sourcing a new gearbox.

I thought it was meant to come on thurs?
Have you tried the nation wide part search number I gave you?
A second hand engine is probably not a good idea, especialy if your thinking of running higher power. What if its f##ked when you fit it ? or worse if it waves bye bye after the so called warranty runs out?
Best to get it rebuilt if you want it to last,at least you will get a warranty that stands, you will know the engine from its first mile, for that you MUST go to a professional.
I know its more than a months wages (for some),but with a car like this you just cant afford to take a chance.
the engine i received wasnt an sti engine so seen as i've tried that route now, all the signs are pointing to a rebuild which is why i'm asking who is best for it?!
