Default Scoobynet Pug 205 owners - insurance

Alright chaps.

Insurance time has come round. Got 57.5% no claims, renewal has come in at 475 from Liv Vic for the year, including backbox and 57i.

Now, the car barely does 2k miles a year, so that price is just far too high. Where are you lot insured, and how about classic insurance?

Car is garaged and as I said does little mileage so I want a cheaper quote!

When I got a quote I went to confused.com and AXA who insured my Carlton. The quote was very good for me.

Scoob is my first car so all my no claims bonus goes there...

A-plan wanted £900 TPFT
L and V wanted £950 TPFT

Didnt look too much further than that... Got my missis to insure it through Diamond direct (women only place) as her second car and I pay £288.

Try footman james, they do really good deals on limited milage insurance. I'm 26 with 4 years NC and pay a shade over £500 for my evo 1. Limited to 3000 miles a year.

They also do 5000 and 7500 policies.

HIC Insurance without a doubt.
I have my pug insured on a second policy (my main car is with them too) so I am accumulating NCB on both cars now. I have about 5 years on the pug. 26 years old, 2x SP30`s quiet area car is strippd, buckets, cage, MI16 engine.
Costs about £450 fully comp and includes track-day cover.

Mine insured with Diamond Insurance Consultants, a classic car broker.

Paid £280 P/A, fully comp, 4000 miles a year, car garaged, 29 years old, very careful girlie driver.

No claims bonus is not taken into account, so you can use your bonus on summat else.

I actually reckon I could beat this figure easily if I shopped around, my dear old 2.8 Capri is worth far more but is only £155 PA in same circumstances as above, but with Jardine Faber.

Happy hunting mate.

Cheers chaps

Olly - thats not a bad price, though I have no missus to stick it under As for the bonus, I already have 8.5 years on the supe, so nothing else to use it on but the Pug! Still cheers for the names, I'll give them all a go

Adrian Flux did the biz for me - £300 TPFT for a track car, taking into account mods + cage etc - and for another £30 I got home recovery service...
