I have got a new alarm but the dual zone wont work properly. It just seems to beep when it wants to even if nothing is there and when you do walk up to the car it wont work. My installers suggests it is the fault of my tinted windows and there is nothing that can be done, is this right. I hane a sti9 if that makes any difference,

Jamie m8, I had the same problem: It would 'sqwualk' for no reason and eventually the alarm would sound. I tried turning down the proximity but it was no good.

I discovered it only did this when I was at work and at the garage, at both places there were radio antennae. One for microwave and the other from a taxi office, it seems the alarm isn't shielded against these emissions and interprets them as attempts to grab the code.

The only thing I could do was to disable the proximity at work, but this didn't resolve the issue with the taxi office???
