Question Is the Prodrive Quickshift worth it?

After a lot of head scratching, have finally put the deposit down on a MY04 WRX SL with PPP and CD multichanger to replace the Mondeo ST200 that I have been driving for the last 3 years.

Going for the SL because my wife likes the heated seats on her Forrester AWP.
Going for PPP because low rev torque on WRX was pathetic compaired to 200 bhp V6 in the ST200. No complaints with WRX once you get to 3000 rpm.

The new car is at the docks, and it will take a few weeks to fit the UK stuff and get it to the dealer, who then fits the PPP and CD multichanger. The salesman (Nathan at Showells) said that with the PPP I might like to think about the Prodrive Quickshift - no hurry he said, but if you get it before delivery you don't pay for fitting

So the question; is it worth the extra £200 for the Quickshift on a WRX? Does it make that much difference when shifting?

I can't speak for your particular car, but I fitted a GGR Quickshift to my MY99 Wagon. Shorter, more precise gear change, theory being that less movement of arm makes changing gears a bit quicker. Dunno if it does, but I prefer the action.

As to whether you want to spend £200 for Prodrive or £100 + fitting for GGR/whoever, is up to you
