My plan is to go for a decat but high noise levels are a problem, so no afterburner for me. Im after more noise than standard but not drooning or defeaning.


After a email chat with Hayward and Scott they can make a centre section with a silencer / resonator in it, how much if any diffence will this make assuming downpipe, cat pipe, center with silencer and a H & S Backbox is installed.

is it a waste of £60 over the straight through centre pipe ?.

Anyone had a H & S (standard Noise) backbox installed how does it compare to a magnex or Ninja ??.

Prodrive back box was my solution to keeping car "family friendly" after full decat (downpipe and centre). Quiet on motorway and cruising, but nice noise when required.

I've also had H&S ScoobySport on same car with full decat and its much louder. Magnex 6x4" was louder still.

Resonated centres do lower the noise in car by a small amount.

Ninjas and the like I would imagine are unbearable at times in the car if the noise they make outside is anything to go by.

 

What i can tell you is when i had my Ninja B/B with a resonated and Cat centre and H&S decat D/P it was fine as far as noise levels were concerned in the car...lovely burble outside of course. When i had a decat centre section fitted it bacame a little louder but much deeper in the car. Still no droning.
