Default Homemade sports cat

This may be a non-starter, but has anyone built there own sports cat by taking two standard centre sections (for a clasic) and cut and welding two cats into one pipe?

I thought that this may be a cost effective method to passing MOT's with a full de-cat, just replace the centre for the test.

Could you not just find a larger cat off a different car that only has a single cat with a similar bore and just modify a standard centre section?
I thought the majority would pass with just the centre cat in anyway?

This has been done a few times by different groups of people with the aim of getting through the mot, seems to work!!
Was gonna do it myself, but found a nice garage instead!!
