Only 1 of you can take out a policy on the vehicle (and collect NCB) with the other as a named driver. I doubt if it matters who actually owns the vehicle.

Taking out 2 insurance policies on 1 vehicle would probably be classed as fraud, although I'm no expert on the matter. (Some people might try to claim twice...... thats why all insurance companies supposedly share info via a database now)

Insurance is funny...... I decided to try a quote with just me on the policy, leaving my wife of, to see how much cheaper it was. It was actually over £100 cheaper with my wife added.

Unfortunately, no Insurance company will do that. If you insure a vehicle you must be the registered owner of the vehicle. You cannot insure a vehicle you have no financial interest in.
