Default scooby front speakers

the front speakers in my new 2003 wrx are junk, the door cards buzz more than a buzzy thing,i have 2 turn the base down & faid to the rears just 2 get some sort of clear sound. Is this a common problem with this model?is there a good speaker upgrade 4 the fronts? ps thanks 4 advice about magnex.

Totally agree ! Got loudness off but bass on full with fader set more to rear. Agood set of front speakers should cost about £45 from decent stockist. Better option would be bass tube. However that could get pricey. Not sure if head unit has pre amp on back ? Would rather save money towards PPP - Who cares what stereo sounds like then !

Both speakers and head unit in MY03 are pants. I first changed the head unit for a blaupunkt Los Angeles, and just last week replaced the front speakers with pioneer units. The speakers especailly made a huge difference. Check out the ICE forum here on scooby net and the links to Chiarks excellent website, there's some great advice available. I'm a complete ham fist, but was able to fit both head unit and speakers myself with the instructions I found.
