Thumbs up

This link will tell you power outputs and model codes

Look for worn inside tyres as 4WD.
Look for iffy clutches as they can eat them
Listen for gearbox whine
Jap aftermarket exhausts are not stainless so check that out
I always think a MY95 is a good one to go for as it has a base 260bhp, the TD05 turbo which is bigger than later cars and the more robust older style MAF. But have weaker powerstearing and coolant reseviours - these can be very weak and need replacing.
Also the top hose has a tendancy to crack on older cars.
Try to avoid cars with induction kits as these often suck sh*t into the MAF and buggers things up.
A private buyer who is an enthusiast is your best bet.

Good luck
Steve
